A show of two girls
With objets
To wit: an ‘office’ containing a brief horse movie, an approximate figurine, a plasticine splat, a still life arrangement, a lit sign, an nameplate and a photograph of the artists quietly observing their achievements.
It’s as if they’d been hired to do a secretarial job, but hadn’t had their tasks comprehensively explained, and additionally had been double-booked by mistake and had used the rare opportunity of this happy encounter with each other to create their own State or something.
And had enthusiastically embarked on that ambitious project, but had found themselves flagging after redecorating the office with their own paraphernalia, swapping hobby tips, and devising dreamy plots, all of which proved to each other that rather than this being a unique time in their lives, it was perfectly typical of how they always are.
And in that spirit, they pause to regard each other.
And this shared moment of recognition formed itself into a tacit agreement to do whatever it was they were doing neither well nor badly but sufficiently.
So that their new State or whatever it was, slipping between the cracks of the existing categories of their lives, was indeed and in fact created.
