A Party to Honour the Absence of the Amazing Miss Rosie Cooper

Magazin 4, Bregenz

A Party to Honour the Absence of the Amazing Miss Rosie Cooper was originally a commissioned response to John Cage's 1952 "silent" musical compsition 4'33".   It was first presented on Saturday 21 July 2007 at Magazin 4, Bregenz, Austria, as pat of 4'33" (3 movements, no notes) an exhibition curated by Peter Lewis and Wolfgang Fetz that also featured contributions from Fabienne Audeoud, Celine Condorelli, Cecilia Wee and Martin Creed.

Since then, it has been re-presented in various different locations - in 2008 as part of Per adesso noi siamo qua (for now we are here) at Villa Romana, Florence, in 2009; in 2008 at The Old Ship in London; and at Mill24, Manchester, in 2010.

Each presentation requires a specific set-up that includes the banner; cake; sparklers and bunting, coloured lights or glitter curtains.

On each occasion the audience are invited to send a tourist-style postcard to me at home.
